Da Nang is Vietnam’s third largest city, with population of around 1,000,000. Danang is slated to become the major economic center in central Vietnam. Go back in time, Danang was where the Sahuynh culture flourished during the Iron Age, over 3,000 years ago. The first inhabitants of the region were the ancestors of the Cham people. The Cham museum in Danang houses the world’s largest and finest collection of the Cham sculpture, with over 300 sandstone pieces exhibited in a building constructed in 1915 by the Ecole Francaise d’Extreme-Orient. Many of the sandstone carvings such as altars, lingars, garudas, ganeshas and images of Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu are absolutely stunning. This museum is a place you can visit again and again. 14:00: Visit and Han market, one of the city’s major traditional markets and among its most-visited attractions for both domestic and foreign visitors. This market is well-known for its live and fresh seafood, as well as its fresh fruits and vegetables, and local specialities.
